Many years ago I practiced and became quite proficient at Calligraphy. Recently my neighbors son had been awarded a certificate from the Boy Scouts, his Father asked me if I would fill in his son's name in "That there fancy writing you do"; naturally I was pleased to oblige.

The boy, around 7 or 8 years old shows up at my door, award in hand, along with his buddy.

I asked them in, got out the India Ink and script pen, dipped the nib in the ink-bottle, took a couple of swipes on a scrap piece of paper and was about to write. The boy promptly jabs his elbow into his friends ribs and announces..."See that there...that's pure ink".

I laughed, then realized, due to felt tip and ball point pens, the kids these days never see liquid ink in a bottle.
